I won’t go into details, but on the way home from Oregon, just two hours into the drive, two large animals ran in right in front of me.
Here’s the result.

I was just sick over it, but it could not have been avoided.
The RV was still drivable, so I loaded the pieces inside and I made it the rest of the way home without incident.
I didn’t know where to take it for repairs, but I had heard NIRVC Las Vegas does great body work. They were able to get me in the next week, so I packed up and headed their way. I was planning to visit them for some work later in the year, and the service team was able to move those items up in their schedule too, which was great. I’ll write about those upgrades in a later post.
I arrived at NIRVC as they were closing, and they had a spot reserved for me to stay overnight.

The place is so big! This location has 5 acres under roof and could easily double in size based on the activity.

The next morning, they inspected the RV and took it inside. I was off to the airport to fly home. The Progressive insurance estimator arrived the next morning so they were able to start work right away. From that point on, the RV was indoors and plugged into power until I picked it up again.
The NIRVC advisor was awesome to work with and sent me photos as the work progressed. I never thought I’d see it look this good again!

After the body shop was done, the service team took over and completed a few other projects, and before long I was flying back to Las Vegas to pick up the RV!
They had the RV waiting for me so I could inspect the work done and pay up.
I stayed overnight in their lot, then took off for home the next morning.
I’m still amazed at how just a month after the damage, I’m picking up the RV and driving home with the RV looking better than ever!
We live in a great country, and the people at Progressive and NIRVC are the best!
Here we are a few weeks later, camping again!

Glad You got it fixed and no one was hurt. I had a simular problem 10 years ago with a 5th wheel. $17 K to fix

Thanks! Yes, better than new now!
Wow, sorry to hear about this mis adventure but glad about the out come! I wish NIRVC had more places- especially in Ca. We love our ’08 Sightseer and hate to trust to bad places for work. Thanks for the post! Drew

Thanks. I was wondering whether to post about it, but thought some might appreciate hearing about my experiences with insurance and repair. I saw an NIRVC poster showing their expansion vision, and Sacramento had a “Star” as a potential expansion site…so there is hope!
