Exploring Avila Beach: A Perfect Getaway with Friends (206)

We returned to Avila Beach, CA in September with our good friends, Phil and Debbie. We booked the trip when we were here last year (I'll add a link to that trip at the end of the post) because we enjoyed the area so much, and we had a few more excursions we wanted to... Continue Reading →

Oceanfront at Pillar Point (205)

We have always wanted to stay here at Pillar Point RV Park, but the ocean front sites were always full! We were happy to see a site open in August, so off we went off to Pillar Point! To the right of our rig is the harbor, and to the left is Surfer's Beach. Off... Continue Reading →

Olympic National Park: Exploring Hurricane Ridge and Lake Crescent (202)

In Washington, we enjoyed a family trip to Lake Pleasant RV Resort, visiting Seattle and Olympic National Park. Highlights included bike rides, local cuisine, and exploring Lake Crescent's beauty. We also hiked to Marymere Falls, visited Port Townsend, and concluded our journey refreshed. Next, we headed to Gig Harbor for more adventures.

Bend, Oregon (201)

We were really anticipating the next stop on our summer trip in Bend Oregon. I'll explain why, as we’ve been here a few times: Our first trip to Bend was in 2016, in our first Motorhome, was amazing. Weather was great, lots of family time, kayaking, biking, and trying out local restaurants and coffee places.... Continue Reading →

Mount Lassen and Burney Falls (200)

Our summer RV trip started in Mount Lassen National Park. The drive from the San Francisco Bay Area was good. From Redding, there is a steep climb up to Shingletown where the Mt Lassen KOA is located. There is not much in the area, so be sure to bring everything you need! We drove the... Continue Reading →

New Equinox and Towing Setup

We purchased a new 2024 Chevy Equinox in September to replace our trusty 2014 CR-V as our towed vehicle. So, the first order of business was to get it set-up for towing. We decided on a Chevy Equinox based on FMCA's annual report on vehicles that can be flat towed (i.e., with all 4 tires... Continue Reading →

Avila sunsets and rocket launches! (189)

At the beginning of September, we spent a week at Avila Beach with our good friends Phil and Debbie. It was their first time in the area, so we got to revisit all our favorite places. We had a great time and capped off the week with a SpaceX rocket launch! Staying at Flying Flags... Continue Reading →

Newmar Baystar 3014 – 1-Year Review (1 of 3)

A little over a year has passed since we purchase our Big Blue Box, a 2023 Newmar Baystar 3014. It is our third motorhome, after our Big White Box (2013 Winnebago Sunstar 26HE) and Big Silver Box (2017 Winnebago Adventurer 35P), and by far our favorite. The Baystar 3014 is just the right size for... Continue Reading →
