Tour of Northern CA – Coast (101)

After leaving the Gold Country we traveled through farm country and vineyards to the coast near the town of Jenner by the Sea.

We stayed at Casini Ranch, which is nestled along the Russian River.

There are a few businesses near the RV Park, in case you need a good pastry and coffee.

The restaurant was also open for outdoor dining.

Cassini Ranch is geared towards family camping and river activities. Of course most of the resort amenities were closed due to the virus.

Our first excursion took us north along the Sonoma Coast.

The road winds it’s way along the steep coastline and there are several spots to pull over and enjoy the view.

We stopped at the land preserve and took a hike above the coast.

The view was definitely worth the hike!

We enjoyed the ride home, stopping at several places to enjoy the view.

In a couple places, seals and their pups lined the beaches.

We spent the next day in Jenner and Goat Rock State Beach.

We started the day with coffee at Cafe Aquatica. Their coffee and food were great, and we lingered outside just taking in the great views of the Russian River as it meets the Pacific.

Next time we visit we will definitely bring our kayak!

We then headed to Goat Rock State Beach.

It has some of the most beautiful shoreline in California!

We highly recommend this area! We felt so relaxed and rejuvenated when it was time to leave. Next stop: the redwoods!
