Seattle Area (133)

Our next stop was to spend some quality time with family in Bothell, a suburb of Seattle by Lake Washington.

We stayed at Lake Pleasant RV Resort. The sites are situated around a beautiful lake in a small valley. The lake itself is a nature preserve.

We thoroughly enjoyed the park and would like to return next year. Unfortunately, our neighbor had a hard time backing in and ended up uprooting a tree and wearing part of the landscape!

Most mornings, I enjoyed a bike ride along one of the nearby bike trails. Lake Pleasant RV Resort is a short 2 mile ride to the Sammamish River Trail, a beautiful ride next to the river.

Going the other direction takes you on the Burke-Gilman Trail around Lake Washington.

We had a wonderful time visiting Deb’s brother and family, but I think Lucy had the most fun! She LOVED playing with their cat Amber and our niece! 🙂

We loved sailing the sound on the Mystic Lady.

They even let us take over the helm! What were they thinking?!

We also visited the Everett Marina and the Mukilteo Lighthouse. Such a beautiful area.

Before we left, Chuck helped me fix some woodwork in the RV. He is amazing at this and the part looked like it came from the factory…actually better than that!

There is so much to do in the area that literally books have been written on the subject. This isn’t meant to take you on a tour of Seattle, but just share our experience this trip.

In prior trips we’ve hit all the highlights, including the Pike Place, the Space Needle, Chihuly Museum, etc. etc. Please comment with your favorite destination.

This is why setting up a base here in Bothell and taking day trips is a great way to experience Seattle.

Yes, we will definitely be back next year!
